Installation

• Obtain X11. Apple distributes its own version at http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/x11/download/. The open-source XFree86, on which it is based, is available at http://www.xfree86.org/
• Obtain tcltk. The package is available for download from R on the Mac OS X Development Page at http://www.economia.unimi.it/R/. Download the file, tcltk.tgz from there. It will install the necessary libraries exactly where R thinks they should be.
• Install necessary libraries (such as extRemes) exactly as for Windows (for Aqua GUI) or Unix/Linux (for Terminal command line)

Running extRemes

• First, run X11 to start the X-Windows Server.
• Finally, load the extRemes library exactly as for Windows (for Aqua GUI) or Unix/Linux (for Terminal command line).
