"Imaging Regional Urban/Industrial Environmental Footprints"

August 7-8, 2002

National Center for Atmospheric Research
Boulder, Colorado
Foothills Laboratory, Building 2, Room 1001

A Workshop on the design of a dedicated mission for observing or inferring regional urban/industrial thermal and air pollution footprints from space will be held at the National Center for Atmospheric Research, Foothills Laboratory, in Boulder, Colorado, on August 7-8, 2002. The objective of the workshop is to design a prototype small satellite mission that will assess the role and importance of a new generation of space technologies for determining the regional and global consequences of urban/industrial centers. The workshop will review the scientific rationale and requirements, sensor and mission design options, and information system strategies for a prototype CitySat. The National Science Foundation and the National Center for Atmospheric Research are sponsors of this workshop. Travel support is available for registered participants. Registration will close on July 21, 2002.
